Fungal Nail Laser Treatment

Have you noticed changes in one or more nails?
When suffering from a fungal nail infection, you will start to notice a couple of symptoms. A fungal nail infection will usually start at the edge of the nail, but it can very quickly spread to the rest of the nail, causing the nail to become discoloured and sometimes thicker in places making it difficult to trim. It can also make your toenails brittle and break very quickly and often causes pain and swelling of the skin surrounding the affected area.
But fear not, here at Farnham Foot Clinic, we provide completely painless fungal treatment using the latest laser technology to fight the fungal nail infection.
Until recently, treatment options have been limited to topical and oral medication, with disappointing results and potential side effects.Laser fungal nail treatment is much more effective when compared to more conventional oral drug treatments.
Fungal Nail Laser treatment is:

Fungal nail infections are often caused by the same fungus that causes athlete’s foot. Whilst they don’t pose a serious health risk, an untreated infection will not clear up and can spread.
Infected nails alter in appearance over time, becoming white or yellow, thickened and crumbly. You may also notice a musty smell. It’s an embarrassing condition that can be uncomfortable, even painful.
In a pre-treatment consultation, We will explain all the options available to you in a pre-treatment consultation. We also test for the presence of fungi and confirm the diagnosis if appropriate.
A typical treatment plan doesn’t always need many laser treatments before you see positive results. It typically involves a course of 3 to 4 sessions, each lasting approximately 30 minutes. We provide straightforward aftercare advice, and you can resume your normal daily activity after each treatment without any discomfort.
How Does Fungal Laser Treatment Work?
The laser fungal treatment pulses light to attack the organisms under the nail by raising the temperature of the fungal micro-organisms. It does so without causing damage to the healthy skin or tissue. Unlike topical therapies, the laser light can penetrate through the toenail and more effectively reach the fungus.
